I am a particularly big fan of drunken text messaging. having predictive text makes it easier for you to write the message and therefore more dangerous...

plus you can look the next day at what you wrote... like last night, for example, i apparently texted to a boy: "how many dirty martinis does it take to screw a trainee lawyer?"

it has often got me in trouble however, especially when you send them to the wrong recipient... aaah!!!

I didn't feel as excited about leaving a message as I was about talking to this guy I'm totally excited about trying to talk to, so I hung up. I know. I know, people hate hang up calls, but I had to make a quick decision: think of something clever to say or hang the phone up, boracha.

I got a call two nights ago from a friend that pretended that he was drunk dialing me... I thought he was drunk a the time, but I found out today, that he wasn't from a friend he was with. What a jerk! Just to let you all know, his new last name in my phone is "DON'T ANSWER".

I just hope I don't see that and accidentally call him if I get drunk.

It turns out I left a message not for the Mark I thought, but for a Mark a met wasted at the Hemlock and took home about a year go and havent spoken to since.

So what is the best drunk dial story you've got (recieved or called)?

I must say my personal favorite is calling my frined Josh at 3 AM my time, 6 or 7 am his time, and leaving him a message saying that we should get maried and buy a house in the carribean and have babies because he's rich and going to Harvard. Flattering, yet offensive/gold digging. I din't even remember calling him till I called him sober about a week later to say hello and he asked if I remembered saying all that. Oops.

My sister liked to drunk dial my mom and tell her that she loved her. WTF?!

Got a good tip for all of you. When I leave home before a night out, I write down all of the numbers that I am prone to drunk dial and leave the numbers at home. Then I erase all of the numbers from my phone. The next day, I reprogram the numbers back in my phone. Little bit of extra work, but worth the effort.

About 4:30 am EST yesterday, I get a call from a guy I went out with two weeks before. Mind you, he hasn't called me since our date, nor asked me out again. A few IMs and that was it. He was out of town and I knew what he wanted. Heck I was even wide awake and 'in the mood' - but I knew that he was a nice boy and would regret it later. So I turned him down as nicely as I could and told him to sleep it off. He called me last night as he was driving back down from NY to DC... very apologetic. What's cute is that NOW he is acting all interested in me again... wanting to know if I am around next weekend, etc. DUDE - where were you the past two weeks???

I thought it was perfectly fine last weekend to dd my ex in NYC (I'm in Portland, OR) at 8:30 am his time, 5:30 am my time to ask what the name of his college was.

It was really purely informational, so I got the info and hung up and then he called back PISSED OFF and some girl answered my phone and started doing drunk sex noises, so then he called back again and was super really pissed off.

It all started so innocently...or so I thought.

On Thanksgiving, I met a friend at a bar for post family stress relief. We got completely hammered and I decided I needed to booty call his cousin, who I used to date and who was also familying it up in town. I used his cell phone to call, but he speed dialed the wrong number and we accidentally got his aunt (mother of the cousin). In my drunken state, I didn't disconnect the call, and we proceeded to spend the next 10 minutes discussing how he'd talked his girlfriend into anal sex. Most of the conversation ended up on his aunt's voice mail. I kinda wish I could have heard that message....

wierd phone call

I used to get this call when I lived in San Francisco: the phone rings; I pick it up and say hello. The person on the other end makes this totally bizzarre sound like a deaf person trying to speak. The person would repeat certain utterances, and all I could say was "huh?" or "what did you say?" After a few minutes the person would get agitated and hang up. A year later I would get the same call. This was an on and off thing for about 4 years. I attempted to communicate with the person, but it was impossible. The last few times "it" called, I answered very cheerfuly, like I was talking to an old friend. This made the caller even more flustered.

I guess you had to be there.

My friends now know to take the phone away from me when i get really drunk, because i will call everyone i know that i havent talked to in 2 days.
Also a lot of them answer and when they find out nothing is wrong they are severely pissed.

A variantion of drunk dialing that I am extremely prone to: Text Messaging. I much prefer when I'm too drunk to do it properly and someone gets a blank message than when they actually get what I'm trying to tell them.
